Design Inspiration

This pool was designed to create a sophisticated outdoor space where modern backyard living meets relaxed Australian style. The 8.2m x 4.2m Vogue pool sits perfectly within a generous paved entertaining area, providing ample space for lounging, entertaining, and enjoying the water throughout the warmer months.

A standout feature of the design is the custom feature wall and water element, highlighted by a decorative plaque inspired by the historic Furphy Farm Water Cart – J. Furphy & Sons, Shepparton. A nod to Australian heritage, the Furphy water carts became famous during the early 1900s and even gave rise to the Australian slang term “furphy,” meaning a rumour or tall story shared around the water carts. Water gently flows from the feature into the basin below, adding movement and a calming sound that enhances the overall atmosphere of the space.

Surrounding the pool, large-format stone paving creates a clean and modern aesthetic while providing plenty of room for poolside furniture and entertaining. Above the pool, a tensioned shade sail structure introduces a striking architectural element while also offering practical shade, ensuring the pool area remains comfortable throughout the warmer months.

As evening approaches, carefully positioned lighting across the feature wall and within the pool transforms the entire area into a beautifully illuminated retreat, creating the perfect setting for relaxed evenings and outdoor entertaining.

Functional Elegance

Designed for effortless enjoyment, this pool combines refined aesthetics with intelligent performance. Beneath its resort-style appearance lies a suite of advanced systems working quietly in the background to minimise maintenance and maximise time spent enjoying the water.

An integrated in-floor cleaning system continuously circulates and cleans the pool, helping keep the surface and floor spotless with minimal effort. Automated sanitisation and water management technology maintains consistently clear, healthy water while reducing the need for constant manual adjustment.

Efficient heating helps extend the swimming season, allowing the pool to remain comfortable beyond the warmer months and ensuring the backyard can be enjoyed for longer throughout the year.

Every element has been thoughtfully selected to deliver a premium experience without complexity — allowing the pool to function as a true extension of the home, where relaxation comes naturally and upkeep feels effortless.

Client Vision Realised

The vision for this project was to create a backyard space that combined relaxation, style, and practicality — a place where family and friends could gather and enjoy the outdoors throughout the warmer months.

The 8.2m x 4.2m pool forms the centrepiece of the outdoor area, framed by expansive paving that provides plenty of space for entertaining and poolside seating. The addition of the architectural shade sail offers welcome protection from the sun, allowing the pool to be enjoyed comfortably during the hottest parts of the day.

A custom feature wall and water feature bring character and movement to the space, while subtle lighting transforms the area after dark, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for evening entertaining.

The result is a beautifully balanced outdoor environment where modern design, comfort, and functionality come together — delivering a backyard that is both visually striking and effortlessly enjoyable.
